Raveendran Natarajan will share his experiences about bird watching and it’s role in our ecosystem.

N.Raveendran, founder of Iragukal Naturalist and conservation group and Madurai Nature Forum, will talk about our feathered friends, birds and why we should watch the birds. The session will discuss Birds’ roles in our ecosystems, how to identify the birds in the field, difference between migratory birds and resident birds, interesting facts about the birds and
how to invite birds on our balcony garden
After doing an ornithology course in BNHS, Mumbai, he developed a deep passion for birds, wildlife, and wildlife photography. Every year, he gives basic birding skill, awareness to 10,000 kids, college and school students by conducting workshops and organizing nature walks, sharing articles about nature in children magazines, supporting forest department and other wildlife NGO’s, participating in regular wildlife census has become his life now.
His vision is to take initiatives to the Tamilnadu Govt to declare the Samanatham & Avaniyapuram water catchment tank areas as a two birds sanctuaries for Madurai district and Identify more than 100 wetlands and Bio-diversity hotspots and birding hotspots in Tamilnadu and publish a book “Bird atlas of Tamilnadu” in Tamil & English.
